Lisa and Joe met on a warm summer S-U-N-D-R-E-S-S day while leaving work — one of those simple moments that somehow changes everything. A quick conversation turned into a connection that felt effortless, natural, and familiar, like we’d known each other much longer than a few minutes. From great whiskey to traveling the world to simply enjoying life, we discovered we shared so many passions. We laughed at the same things, dreamed about the same adventures, and found comfort in how easy it was to be ourselves around each other. What started as a chance encounter quickly became something deeper, and that spark hasn’t stopped since. It’s only grown stronger with every trip, every challenge, every toast, and every quiet moment in between.
First Official date
Our first date was at the InterContinental bar in Buckhead — a place that instantly felt warm, easy, and just right. Lisa ordered an Old Fashioned that she said was amazing, and somehow that simple moment set the tone for everything that followed. We talked for hours that night. About life, dreams, family, the small things, the big things — and everything in between. Time slipped away without either of us noticing, and by the end of the night, it was clear: this wasn’t just a date. It was the beginning of something real. That evening at the InterContinental became the first page of our story — one we’re still writing, together.
Proposal
Hilton Head Island was one for the books. Surrounded by family at a beautiful restaurant, the kind where the breeze rolls in slow and the sunset does half the talking, I asked the biggest question of my life. Only a select few were in on the surprise—an elite inner circle of co-conspirators. Everyone else, including our poor unsuspecting waitress, had no idea what was about to happen. And then it happened. The world got quiet, the moment got loud, and I asked her to marry me. Her smile said everything. The table erupted. The waitress almost dropped a tray. It was perfect—messy with emotion, overflowing with love, and better than anything I could’ve planned. A night we’ll be telling stories about forever.

Being engaged has given us time to slow down and really enjoy this chapter — the planning, the dreaming, the conversations about our future, and all the little moments in between. And now, after months of celebrating this part of our journey, we’re more excited than ever to take the next step — together.
